Your weekly dose of Alluviance!
Let’s get real about “vision” for a moment.
Too often, it’s romanticized. A dreamy north star, a few motivational quotes, maybe a slick mission statement. But the true test of your vision isn’t how inspiring it sounds on paper. It’s whether or not it pushes you out of your comfort zone.
Your vision cannot be achieved from your comforts of today. Fact.
Ask any founder who’s taken the leap. The moment you step into a big vision, you’re on a rollercoaster. One day, you’re riding high on the cusp of the next big breakthrough. The next, you’re questioning why you ever thought you could pull this off. Sometimes, that high and low hit in the same day.
Most people take that as a sign they’re doing something wrong. But the truth? That’s exactly how it’s supposed to feel.
If your vision doesn’t shake you up, it’s just a comfortably dressed goal masquerading as "vision." It won’t transform you. It won’t require you to grow into the leader you’re meant to be. Real vision compels you to let go of the familiar, to trade safety for possibility. And that’s messy. It’s disorienting. It’s exhausting.
But it’s also where everything you’re capable of lives.
So, where does that leave us?
Ask yourself: “When was the last time I felt genuinely uncomfortable on the path to something I say I want?”
If it’s been a while, consider that maybe you’re still within your comfort zone. Doing what’s predictable rather than what’s transformative.
Here’s what I want you to do: Find the step you’ve been avoiding. The one that feels too risky, too uncertain. That’s your signal. That’s where your real vision is waiting.
Take that step. Lean into the discomfort. Prove to yourself that you’re not just dreamcasting or fooling yourself to keep playing small. You’re doing the work that makes vision real.
That discomfort? That’s not a sign to turn back. It’s a signal you’re on the right track.
Remember: you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re forging a brand-new path or looking to level up within an existing one, there’s a community here that understands exactly what that rollercoaster feels like. And why it’s worth the ride every time.
